DEVOTION FOR TODAY

Thaddeus of Vitovnica said, 'We have very little faith in the Lord, very little trust. If we trusted the Lord as much as we trust a friend when we ask him to do something for us, neither we as individuals nor our whole country would suffer so much.' There lies the greatest problem of man from the Garden of Eden. Our biggest problem is not money or men. Our biggest problem is trust. Trust is the reliance on the character or ability or strength of someone for who they are.
Isaiah 26:4 commands us to TRUST in the LORD for ever because in Jehovah is everlasting strength. Let's solve this problem today. 1. God commands that you trust Him. Like in the military, when your commander orders you to kill a target, you do it no questions asked. Why? You trust his judgement. Can you look at God again and see that His judgement is always right? If the first man trusted God's command, we would still be in the Garden of Eden today. 2. God can be trusted all the time. Not sometimes. He sees the end from the beginning so what you spend a lifetime to discover is known to Him eternity past. That's why He is God because He knows from the past to the future. He knows that you probably won't believe He is the One speaking to you right now through this medium. However, He still believes in you to change your mind. 3. God never changes. He is the same in character, ability and strength. Neither you nor the nearly eight billion people on earth today can exhaust His strength. The size of your need can never intimidate Him. The deciding factor in this trust issue is YOU. You must decide to believe God and rely on Him even when it seems stupid. That trust can turn any situation in your favor because trust in God always compels Him to fight for you. Will you totally throw yourself and concerns on Him today? Don't hesitate. Do it right now.
