DEVOTION FOR TODAY

Can you imagine where God decided to hide His power? It is not in the sun or some other things or beings that scares or frightens people. Rather, He encapsulated His awesome power in the gospel of Christ. Rom. 1:16 shows us some time tested truths about God's power. The good news about the Person of Christ is the power of God available to all. That means if you want to see the power of God work, just talk about Jesus Christ and His good works. If you talk about Jesus and how He saved you or someone you have read about or know, you will see God's power at work to save. If you talk about Jesus and how He healed you or someone else, you will see God's power at work to heal. Talk about Jesus and His provision for you, you will see God's power work to provide.
This is so simple and easy yet we have made it so complicated that we have to do ten things to see God's power. The question is always, why is God's power not working for me? The answer is right in our text today. 1. Shame. We are ashamed to talk about Him Jesus Christ. We don't want to look churchy or religious. We don't want to be confrontational or intolerant of other people and their beliefs. Sometimes, we are even ashamed of talking about our Jesus just in case what we claim He can do does not happen. We want to be dignified before people. God told me years ago, son, until you lose yourself, you can't gain My presence. If you want to see His presence, you must lose your presence and present. 2. Unbelief. The greatest sin is unbelief, the decision you make to doubt God and His word for you. Every other sin is the result of unbelief. It is a choice you make to either believe or not believe God. Every preaching and teaching is to help us make this decision to either believe or not believe God. Today, heaven and earth are standing still because you are about to make this decision again. What will you decide? I choose to believe God in spite of my feelings, fears and fall.
