DEVOTION FOR TODAY

We live in times when our hearts can easily become hard and hurting at every turn we make. However, we must pay attention to our hearts. The human heart is the organ that pumps blood throughout the body via the circulatory system, supplying oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removing carbon dioxide and other wastes. That's how vital your heart is. If it is not working well, your organs will be starved of oxygen and indeed polluted by carbon dioxide and other waste.
Prov. 4:23 instructs us to guard our hearts because out of it flows the vital forces of life. 2 Thess. 3:5 shows us how to guard our hearts daily by asking the Lord to do two things: 1. Ask the Lord daily to flood your heart with His love. God is love. Love is the life of the heart. No wonder the sign of love and heart are the same. If you want to keep your heart alive and well, let God's love flood it. Love God madly. Love yourself unconditionally. Love people with no strings attached. No one deserves your love. You love because you are like God and it keeps you alive. 2. Ask God daily to help you to be patient in waiting for Christ manifestation through you. This is where we all fail every day. Sometimes, we think that God is too slow to answer our prayers, fulfill His promise and His soon return that has lasted more than two thousand years. So like Adam, we eat what He said don't thinking that He is trying to deprive us of something only to discover for ourselves it was a deception from the serpent. Like Abraham, we go into our maid to produce a son called Ishmael who turns out to be a mockery and a thorn in generations to come. Like John the Baptist, we ask if He is the One to come or we should start looking for another. Patience is waiting until God does for you what no man can do. Before you quit, just one more day of waiting on the Lord can change your story. Partner with me to reach 30 million souls in 50 nations this year. Bishop Michael O.
