DEVOTION FOR TODAY

I shall not be moved, is not just an African American spiritual song. It was the protest and union song for the civil rights movement. It was one song million dollar stars like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and others sang. It was one of the poems Maya Angelou wrote. However, the first man to say it or psalm it was David.
In Psalm 16:8, David declared, I SHALL NOT BE MOVED. We live in a time when people are more afraid and insecure than ever. If you don't know what David knew that helped him to be unmovable in spite of all the challenges he had as at this writing, you will surely be moved by every little challenge. Why was David not moved? 1. He set the Lord always before him. That is putting God in your face. If you watch the news, you will definitely be moved. But if you watch God, you can't be moved. This is the way God created man to live. Man was designed by God to look like God by looking at God. As long as you keep your eyes on God, you will look like Him. You will look like who or what you look at consistently. 2. He set God at his right hand. Your right hand man is your most trusted and treasured. That's your partner by choice. When you make God your choicest, your partner and trusted friend, you can be immovable by what goes on outside. What is God to you? Is He a spare Tyre or your trusted partner? You make the decision and see how your decision changes the dynamics of your relationship with God. Partner with me to reach 30 million souls in 50 nations this year. Bishop Michael O.
