DEVOTION FOR TODAY

Britain's greatest leader ever, Sir Winston Churchill once said to a group of boys, Young men, never give up, never give up, never give up. Those words will forever reverberate in history because every man or woman, young or old, will need to hear it again and again.
I don't know if British Prime Minister David Cameron may find those words useful after Britain voted to exit the European Union to his disappointment. Even if he does not need it, you might find it encouraging to go on with your life after the loss of a loved one or the prospect of losing your house or car or job. Heb. 10:23 commands us to hold fast our confession of faith without wavering because God is faithful who promised. The question is: what can you hold on to when all else fail? If you have lived long enough, you will notice that it is so easy to give up when you fail or fall or fumble. It's so easy to throw in the towel at the least resistance or reprove. However, you can't give up so soon if you have something to hold on to that your life depends on. Things to hold fast to: 1. Your confession. No matter how tough it gets, they can't shut your mouth. Talk your way out of the pit. Don't keep quiet until your mouth delivers you. Your mouth may just be the only thing you have working for you. Don't let it work against you. Don't be like a sheep led to the slaughter because you refuse to open your mouth. 2. Your confidence. No matter your condition, don't lose your confidence. That may be the only force that can energize you from darkness to light. Have faith in God, yourself and your outcome. Believe even if no one else agrees with you. Whatever it is God has promised you, hold on to that promise because it shall come to pass. Against all odds, the tide will turn to your favor if you don't give up.
