DEVOTION FOR TODAY

In
Luke 6:37, Jesus shows us three choices we must make daily. From the
time you wake up until you go to sleep, you will have opportunities to
do any one or two or three of these things. 1. Judge. Vin Diesel said,
We all deal with being unfairly judged. Just as you are dealing with
being unfairly judged, the same way those you judge deal with being
unfairly judged by you. Unless you are a judge who
judge because it is your job to judge, Jesus said, Judge not. Earl
Nightingale said, When you judge others, you do not define them, you
define yourself. That's why Jesus commands us not to judge because you
place yourself to be judged by your own judgment of others. Notice that
when you judge others, they can easily point the same things for which
you judge them in you.
2. Condemn. This is to express complete disapproval of someone or something or somewhere. The temptation to condemn is akin to the fallen man from Eden. This is the root cause of dissatisfaction and disaffection. Jesus said, Condemn not. If you condemn, you shall be condemned. If you don't, you shall not be condemned. When people disapprove of you completely, don't blame them. Just check yourself. 3. Forgive. This is to cancel the debt of wrong treatment, offence and abuse. Like porcupines trying to find a comfortable distance to keep each other warm, we will poke ourselves. It comes with the human terrain. Like Adam, you can choose to blame Eve and eventually produce a killer of your own genealogy called Cain. Like Cain, you can become so bitter at your brother Abel and kill him hoping to solve all your rejection problem. You have read the reports of those before so you can make an informed decision for yourself. Choose to forgive so that you can be forgiven when you offend others. It is wickedness to expect forgiveness when you don't give it to others. Partner with me to reach 30 million souls in 50 nations this year. Bishop Michael O. Amamieye - www.aggressivefaith.org.
