DEVOTION FOR TODAY

Sometimes we get confused if we suffer or are terrorized or troubled. We wonder if God is still with us or we have offended Him. 1 Peter 3:14-22 will help us remove such confusion and condemnation. You don't have to be confused or condemn yourself another day when you suffer if you know these facts.
1. You will suffer for being righteous. I don't know of any Christian who has suffered as much as Jesus did yet He is Lord of all. If your suffering surpasses His, then you can get confused and even feel condemned. 2. Your suffering will always produce some good results. Jesus suffered so we can be saved. Beyond our salvation, His suffering was the only way to secure our eternal destiny. When you suffer, someone's salvation, healing, deliverance and help may just be tied to it. Take suffering for righteousness as your safe passage to a better destination. Don't despise your suffering phase of life. Don’t despise those who are suffering. You never know if they will seat in judgment over your case tomorrow. 3. When you suffer, don't advertise it. Sanctify and separate yourself to God. Become more God drawn. Become more God conscious. He will give you an answer for every question. Eventually, those who asked, why are you suffering like this will see the answers for themselves. Stay strong through trying, troubling and turbulent times. They don't last. You will get to Rome like Paul in spite of all the plots, storms and shipwrecks.
