DEVOTION FOR TODAY

The first thing God created was light. Gen. 1:3. Based on the law of first things, we can conclude that the first thing anyone needs is light. I wish every government that comes into power will know this. Light is the solution to all human problems. If the light issue is taken care of, all others will follow after. The opposite of light is darkness. When darkness covered the earth, it became formless and void.
Darkness has the capacity and propensity of creating chaos and crisis. No wonder, anywhere darkness permeates, there will be chaos and crisis. The chaos and crisis we see in our communities is because of the darkness. Darkness is a force that occupies any space not intentionally occupied. It takes over any territory that is not deliberately possessed. It is such an overpowering force that can make any earthen space shapeless and unproductive. However, light is a superior force that humiliates darkness when it meets it. John 1:5 shows us the all powerful force of the light over darkness. 1. Light shatters darkness. No matter how strong the darkness is, light will shatter it. 2. Light does not succumb to darkness. When light takes over, it stays as champion. No contest or negotiations with darkness for space. The Light is God's word in your heart and mouth. Speak it to the darkness you face. This darkness in our country can be shattered if we begin to speak the light into our homes, offices, schools, hospitals, etc. Instead of amplifying the darkness by sending those words and pictures of darkness as some people are notorious in doing, send out the light of God's word that will shatter the darkness. Let the revolution begin. No more pictures, videos and text of darkness. Let's send the light of God's word and watch it conquer every darkness around us.
