DEVOTION FOR TODAY

I heard about a plane that was going to crash. While most passengers were worried, there was one man who was not troubled at all. When asked why, his answer was if you know what I know, you will relax. Someone asked him, what do you know that we don't know. His reply was that Dr. Billy Graham was on the plane and he knew that God would not allow His servant to die on board the plane.
What you know will determine how you react in trouble. David knew some things about God that helped him in spite of his failures. In 1 Chron. 16:34, he shows us two things that will transform your relationship with God. 1. God is good. No wonder the Anglo Saxon word for God means the good being. The One who is infinitely good that there is no bad in Him. He is so good that every gift He gives reflects His goodness. Even when bad things happen to you, His good being turns it to good. Even when you fail or fall, He turns it to good. 2. God is merciful. His mercy endures all times. No matter your failure or fault, if you fall on His mercy, He will turn it around in your favor. No matter your flip, always fall on His mercy because His mercy will always triumph over judgement. Yes, the case may be bad and against you, His mercy will turn it around to favor you. Before you sentence yourself or they sentence you, appeal to God's mercy. His mercy is so abundant that you can't exhaust it. Never ever give up because God is so good and His mercy endures for ever.
