DEVOTION FOR TODAY

We have questions. God has answers. As our nation goes through such a long season of drought both economically and socially, there are questions some of us are asking. How can we overcome these hardships? How do we respond to the Islamization perpetrated by a government that chanted change giving hope that is crashing like a pack of cards?
2 Chron. 7:14 gives us answers and solutions. First, it takes a people to bring change. Our text qualifies this people as My people who are called by My name. It is NOT those who call Him but those He has called. If you are called by His name, you are the one God is depending on to bring about change. Second, it takes a process to bring change. The process is simple. We must humble ourselves. Humbling yourself is an expression to show you need God so bad that if He doesn't show up, you are not going out. We must pray. The Hebrew word for prayer is tefillah. It means to evaluate yourself and situation with God's word. What is going on in our government, is it in line with God's word? We must seek His face. To seek is to search for what is missing without which we can't go on. The party can't go on if the celebrant is not here. God must take His place of honor and rulership. He is our Judge, Lawgiver and King. He can't be anything less. We must turn from our wicked ways. It's time to walk in love. Put away the anger, hatred, bitterness and wickedness. Third, it takes the power of God to bring change. He demonstrates His power when He hears our prayers, forgives our sins and heals our lands and lives. If we the people will follow the process, we will see His power produce change in our society. Let the revolution begin with you. It's time to pray.
