DEVOTION FOR TODAY

Why did God give us one mouth and two ears? 1. You would look like a monster if you had two mouths and one ear. You look beautiful the way He formed, framed and fashioned you. Never underestimate how beautiful you are the way God made you. You are beaultiful just the way God made you. Psalm 139:14. 2. You look smart with one mouth and two ears. Prov. 17:28 tells us that a fool look smart when he keeps quiet. Every time you have a reason or reasons to be stupid by talking too much, tell yourself to look smart by keeping quiet for a moment. Men and women in relationship will always look smart when we all learn the art of being quiet. You look stupid when you tell a total stranger your history and geography. You look stupid every time you have to voice your opinion about every subject and person. You look stupid every time you insist everyone must hear your side or story. You look stupid when you tell your failures and flaws to those who don't celebrate you as a person. Be smart. Tell some. Keep some. Even in a relationship, don't be an open book that everyone who meets you at first time can just read your life from cover to cover. Learn the masterly art of holding your peace when they expect your opinion or reaction. When they expect you to fight, just take a walk. When they expect you to say something, just shut up. Marriages will survive if both man and wife are smart to hold their peace and shut up. God gave you two ears so you can hear twice. He gave you one mouth so you can say what you have heard twice one time. If you say it one time, you will look stupid to say it again. Just shut up.
