DEVOTION FOR TODAY

HE IS RISEN. Luke 24:6. Those are the three most powerful words of all ages. Those words have been responsible for the life changing difference Christianity makes over the past two thousand years. Other religions whose founders have died, have their rotten bones in the grave.
Jesus died, He was buried. After three days, Jesus rose from the dead with a glorified body that can function both on earth and in heaven. In fact, He is the only one with such a body - a body that God in His triune being dwells. A body that transcends time and space at the same time. A body that indwells billions and trillions of bodies at the same time in spite of location. What makes Christ different from the rest who claim to be a way of life for people to follow? 1. He is not among the dead. Luke 24:5. The others died and are no more. Jesus died but He rose from the dead to die no more. He is definitely not to be equated with any other. 2. He said it severally that He would die but that He would rise again. Others have said so but they never came back. He came back with a glorified body. He has no equal. Don't you dare put Jesus Christ on the same level with any prophet or founder of religion you know. He is above all because He came from above. 3. He is here right now. This is the most amazing part of the Christ story. I remember when I had an encounter with Him nearly four decades ago, I thought He was actually around. It was much later I learned that He died well over two thousand years ago. Yet, He is more real to me than most people who are alive. The reason is that He is risen from the dead and He is alive. He lives in me. We talk everyday. He is here. He is just a prayer away. Just shout the name JESUS CHRIST and He will show up because He is alive.
