DEVOTION FOR TODAY

A snare is a trap that can limit you in life. God never designed man to be limited. That's why when He made man, His plan was and still is that man should have dominion over the three realms of life. Gen. 1:26. Man was so blessed and empowered that he exercised dominion with no limitation until man sinned against God. Sin will always limit man's capacity and possibilities. Sin literarily shortens man's lifetime and lifestyle. Rom. 3:23. Sin brought the snare or trap that has caged man since the fall of man. The proof of sin is the fear of man. When man sinned against God, he became afraid. That fear drove him to hide in Gen. 3:8. Fear is not of God. Fear is proof you are far from the liberating presence of God. What liberates man is faith in God. Faith is your decision to believe God because of His word you hear. Prov. 29:25 shows us how to conquer fear by faith in God. In fact, it uses the word trust which is a higher dimension of faith. While faith comes by hearing God and His word trust is total dependence on God no matter what you hear or feel or see or taste. Three things trust in God will do for you: 1. It will make you secure. You become certain and confident. You are not running from one prophet to another trying to find out what God is saying or not saying. People who are not trusting God are easily swayed by every wind and wave around them. 2. It will make you safe. You are not only saved, you are safe. When you are trusting in God, you are in a safe place where no harm or attack can touch you. 3. It will set you on high. You sit on the same place with God. Trust in God puts you on the same frequency and frame of mind with God. You and God become the invincible team.
