DEVOTION FOR TODAY

I have always believed that God could not have created short people. He is the Most High, He could not have created most low people. Gen. 1:26 tells us that He created the original man just like Himself. The first man was huge. He only made man a little lower than Himself so that man would always look up to Him in order to look like Him. Psa. 8:4-5.
However, sin is what reduced man in size and height. Rom. 3:23 tells us that sin made man to fall short of his original state in God's plan. Adam was a giant of a man. With long legs, he could traverse the entire Garden of Eden probably the size of present Iraq. It would take a mountain of a man to maintain the peace and prosperity in that size of garden. He made sure there was peace between the cat and mouse. The elephant did not trample the ant. The lion did not eat the goat. Adam was definitely God sized to be revered by creation as God. However, sin felled him. As at Gen. 6, there were still giants. You can imagine if the reduced men were giants, how would you call the original man? Archeologists discovered the blueprints of an aircraft designed 6,000 years ago. The discovery shows that men of those days were 17 foot tall. But see what sin has done to us that we consider 7 or 8 foot tall people as giants. The cure for sin is the free gift of God in the second Adam called Jesus Christ. Christ is the redemption of man from the fall that reduces and devalues him. This is the reason we preach because only in Christ is man made free from sin to live just as if he never sinned. No matter your sin, you will pay the price or penalty. Your only way out is by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior. If you are yet to do so, please, say this simple prayer out loud: Jesus come into my heart. Wash me with Your precious blood. I declare You Jesus Christ as my Lord. Amen.
