DEVOTION FOR TODAY

God created man to look like Him by looking at Him. The two words in Gen. 1:26 are image and likeness. Man as God's image here on earth, can imagine things like God and create them. God did a perfect job in all other spheres of existence. But for the earth, you will notice that He left it for man to exercise his God built capacity to imagine and reproduce.
It is what man produces and reproduces that makes him either look like God or less than. If what you create or produce is not looking like what God has imagined, you are looking less than what He designed you. No manufacturer is happy with a product that looks less than what he imagined. That's why we have reject shops where products like that are dumped. That's why we reject goods and services that do not meet our imagination. That's why we reject positions and properties we consider less than our dream or desire. Col. 3:17 tells us to speak and take actions that represents the express image of God who is the Person of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is where the rubber meets the road. Think about this, if before you talk or take action, you ask yourself, would Jesus talk like this? Or would Jesus do this? This will totally transform us because we will become more conscious of Him than ever. Think of what that consciousness would do to us. We would become effective representatives of Him. To think that this has been God's original plan for man from the beginning and the purpose for which Christ came only enforces this desire in us to think, talk and take actions that represents Him. Make it your goal to represent Christ in what you say and do. Let's make the difference Adam failed to do. You can because Christ is in you living His life through you. Yes, I CAN.
