DEVOTION FOR TODAY

Purpose is simply the reason for being or doing. No one or thing exist without a reason. In Matthew 20:28, Jesus states two clear reasons for His being on earth.
1. He came to serve. Life is about service. You will either serve God or gold. You can't serve both at the same time. If you serve God, He will bless you with the gold because they belong to Him. He owns the gold. If you serve Gold which gives money it's value, you will lose everything. That's why people who spend thier lives chasing money eventually lose everything including thier lives. Jesus served God and fulfilled His purpose. He served God by saving, healing, delivering and helping people. Serving God is helping people find thier true purpose and connection with God. You can't claim to serve God if people are not connecting with God because of your service to God. 2. He came to give His life as ransom for many. Jesus did not avoid the cross because that was the main purpose for His coming. His death on the cross was the perfect payment for our total redemption. He died so that you and I can live. This is why I can't die for Christ sake. It is pure stupidity to lay down your life for a course that He has died to take care of. His suffering, death, burial and resurrection perfected the entire plan of redemption. Your suffering and death are not required because no debt is paid twice. It will be unjust if your death is required just as you will be stupid to offer your life to enjoy it. Redemption is complete. Jesus paid the full price. You receive what He has paid for as the prize of your redemption. Partner with us to reach 30 million souls in 50 nations this year. Bishop Michael O. Amamieye - www.aggressivefaith.org.
