DEVOTION FOR TODAY

Prov. 22:4 shows us three things we all look for throughout our lifetime on earth. 1. Riches. The resources to be able to do anything your heart desire. There are things you dream of or desire to accomplish in your lifetime. However, you need the resources to release those things from your heart and mind so they become real for others. That's why God created man to dwell in a Garden called Eden because it was rich with gold and other resources. You were designed by God to be rich. Accept it. Believe it. Confess it. 2. Honor. A life of dignity and respect. Everyone wants to be honored. That's why we seek to be noticed and approved. We desire to be treated with dignity and respect. Rebellion most times is a reaction to treatments of contempt and disapproval. When a child, whether little or grown children, begin to act crazy and weird, it may just be their cry for attention and approval. Study the language before you respond. 3. Life. The capacity to enjoy oneself and all that God created us to do and be. No one really wants to die. That's why people who commit suicide write notes to explain why they have to die. But do they have to die? No. If you are thinking about suicide as your option, think about life. Your life is just about to begin and you want to end it. You don't have to because your future is better than your present and past together. Lift your head up to God the giver of your life. He started it. He will perfect it. These threesome don't just happen to us. Our text tells us that we are led into them through two secrets: 1. Our humility. We must humble ourselves to be led by God and those He sends to help us. 2. Our fear of God. This fear is your God consciousness. Be aware of His presence and power. Don't live a second without acknowledging God with you. He is with you right now. Talk with Him.
